Happy 1st Birthday to Me!

Hi Everyone!

Today is a special day as it is the one year anniversary of my bone marrow transplant! This was my second transplant as the first transplant where I donated my own stem cells did not work. I had an unrelated donor-a 25 year old male from Germany, most likely, who had his own stem cells extracted on February 17, 2020 and were couriered across the world to City of Hope, where I received them the next day. Pretty incredible, right?

I made a video so I could get more attention on this special day. You can click here to watch it!

February 18th is also the birthday of my Mother and my aunt-so I am in great company, but I have some catching up to do since I only have one year with a new immune system!

There’s no guarantee I’ll be cured for the rest of my life or have other side effects, but since today is a good day, no time to worry about sickness.

There are so many people to thank: from the doctors, nurses and staff at City of Hope, to my husband and my children, my Mom and Dad, sister, brother and their spouses, nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and those of you who reached out and provided me with spiritual, emotional and physical guidance.

So going forward, I’m continuing to shoot, shoot, shoot and expand my line of wall art and soon to come: greeting cards!

Check out my new head shot below and take a look at some of my latest florals.

Stay safe out there everyone!
